Without any especial introduction I want to start with this Inspiring Quotes by Wolfgang Ketterle (Physics Nobel Prize Laureate 2001 and one of the instructors of Online courses) “When you understand phenomena in atomic and optical physics you obtain a deeper understanding for quantum physics or you can say a deeper understanding for the world.”

We should keep in mind that some phenomena such as Spontaneous Emission, Casimir Effect and Lamb Shift, can not be describe without fully quantum mechanical description of light and matter and their interaction, we need also new notion like vacuum fluctuations of electromagnetic field to understand these processes.
